The leaves are gone

from those dogwood trees I photographed earlier.  I love the lines of the bare trees.

Hauling sawdust

I was surprised to notice a train with several cars filled with sawdust.  I never thought about hauling sawdust before.

Angel Oak

near Charleston, SC.  Some people say it's 1,000 years old, but others think it's between 300 and 400 years old.  Someone is trying to develop an apartment complex very near the tree, so environmentalists are fighting.  In my opinion, nothing should be done that would interfere with the health of this beautiful tree.

The photo is from The State newspaper.

Another big machine

As I have said before I'm fascinated by the big machinery I keep seeing everywhere.  Some of them make me want to climb up on them and see the view from that height.

Christmas bikes

I hope children still get excited about a new bicycle.  If the influx of bikes at Walmart this week is any indication, then children are looking forward to a new bicycle!!!!

Bales of cotton in the field

I have no idea how many pounds of cotton are in each of these round bales.

Cotton used to be king

Cotton used to be the main crop for a large portion of South Carolina.  Now, not so much.

Ceramics done by Rena Mae

Mama loved doing these ceramic things.  Here's a fisherman (for Heyward) and a golfer.

42nd Colonial Cup Horse Race

November 12th 2011 Camden will host the 42nd Annual Colonial Cup.  It's a beautiful thing -- and this year we should have great weather.

Welcome

I'm thinking this could be reworked to say Welcome to the rivah, or whatever one wished to say.

Mushrooms again

I don't know what it is about mushrooms, I guess it's the fact that I rarely see them in a yard.  I love the textures and the color and the size and the shape.
